Sustainable Funeral Tributes, and Farewell Flowers, Cumbria
Funeral flowers are a very personal choice, offering a way to say goodbye and provide comfort as well as show respect and love for the individual deceased. The funeral tributes I create are seasonal, using methods and natural materials that are fully biodegradable or recyclable. If you’re looking for “wildflower style” or “garden style” farewell flowers inspired by nature, I can help you.
Truly seasonal funeral arrangements can be made all year round, using only British grown flowers and foliage.
I have some basic offerings for you to consider, however I am happy to work with your ideas and suggestions to create what you are looking for. The most popular options for flowers to go on the top of a coffin are (see below for prices and details):
- a tied sheaf
- a wreath
- a casket spray
I can also create bespoke arrangements for you – sometimes this might include using some foliage/flowers from the deceased’s garden, using an item that was connected to the person, maybe a pair of boots, a heart shaped arrangement, or it could be using a quote written out as a centre piece for the flowers (I’m also a calligrapher, so I’m happy to help you with this too).
How do I organise funeral flowers?
When you get in touch with me by phone or email, I will ask you about preferred colours, any flower preferences – either to include or avoid, details of the service, the name of the person and if there is anything else you want to share with me. I will only use British grown material, so please bear in mind that the types and colours of flowers will vary by the season.

Funeral Flowers: Prices and Delivery
Prices start at:
£80 for a sheaf, (rough size of 45cm, stem end to flower) *completely biodegradable
£65 for a willow wreath partly covered in flowers (average external diameter 35cm) *completely biodegradable
£80 for a fully floral wreath (average external diameter 35cm) *completely biodegradable
£150 for a casket spray sized 100cm + (which may be made on a reusable plastic tray, depending on personal requirements and size)
Floral arrangements may also be created for the church, crematorium or wake venue.
For example, a large earthen ware jar filled with seasonal flowers from £125 for a church or flowers in small bottles for the tables at the wake.
Prices may vary according to personal requirements, such as size of tribute, or sourcing of particular flowers.
I’m also very happy to make something especially for you, so do feel free to ask, and share your ideas. I can provide buckets of flowers if you wish to arrange your own.
If you decide to order, I can take payment by bacs, paypal or over the phone with a debit or credit card.
I can deliver to the funeral parlour and to an address of your choice, including churches, wake venues or the crematorium – areas around Penrith, Kirkby Stephen, Appleby, Orton, Hawes, Barnard Castle and anywhere in between (Cumbria, The Eden Valley, North Yorkshire, County Durham).
