DIY wedding flowers are a popular option for couples looking to inject some creativity, fun and individuality into their wedding. Some couples, and friends and family grow their own wedding flowers, but that can be a bit of a big ask, and a heavy weight of responsibility! A good compromise is to buy buckets of flowers from a local grower; you can always add bits from your own garden too.

Elle and Imogen, pictured here, bought buckets of flowers from me, and had a lovely time with their guests arranging them for tables, the ceremony arch, and buttonholes and the bouquet. The wedding was in May, and as peonies were a special favourite (and mine weren’t ready), I bought in additional flowers from other more southern British flower growers.

You might think it would be daunting, and it can look a bit that way when you’re first confronted with all these buckets of flowers waiting to be arranged, but it’s actually a lot of fun and a lovely way of creating memories with your friends and family the day before your actual wedding. It can be nice way for guests to get know each other too, it’s easier to chat over a flower project than a dinner table or dance floor!

It’s really lovely and such a privilege to be able to see how a couple uses their buckets of flowers.

If you’re thinking about a DIY option for yourself, for a wedding or a party, but you’re a little bit apprehensive, or you’re not sure if you’ll “be able to do it” , I also now offer an extra option….. You can “borrow me” for an hour or so (whatever suits you) and we’ll get started on the DIY-ing of flowers together! Or we can spend some time before the “big day” going through your plans, and/or make a bouquet or a table decoration so when you get your actual buckets, you know exactly what you’re doing!

Fill in this short form to enquire about prices, availability or if you have any questions….I’ll get back to you within 3 working days.
